Shift-drag starts a box only on empty canvas and adds its nodes to the current
selection. Release the pointer to return to normal navigation, even if Shift was
released first. Shift-click on a node still toggles that node. For a box that
replaces the selection, choose Marquee in the toolbar and drag without Shift.
